YUAN's QDEEP SDK combines video analysis with AIS data to automate vessel detection, tracking, and identification in ports.

The challenge
Ports handle many arrivals and departures each day. Tracking those movements through manual observation and radar can require substantial operator time and infrastructure.
Video analytics can help a monitoring team follow more vessels continuously.

The solution
YUAN's ship-tracking solution uses the QDEEP SDK to detect vessels in surveillance video and record their movement trajectories. PTZ cameras can follow a selected vessel without continuous manual control.
AIS adds each vessel's name, number, heading, and speed to the video track. The AI uses that data for positioning and identification, giving operators an identified track instead of an anonymous target.

The payoff
Automation can reduce repeated camera-control and track-labeling tasks. Actual detection and identity accuracy depend on camera coverage, weather, vessel visibility, AIS availability, model settings, and site validation.
Operators remain responsible for reviewing tracks, handling exceptions, and issuing commands.

Beyond the harbor
The architecture combines capture, edge inference, and control. Multi-channel TVI and SDI capture platforms and 5G-connected edge-AI systems such as the VPP6N0-S AGX 5G can use the same detection and tracking workflow in roadside and transit infrastructure.
The same approach can be adapted to vehicle monitoring wherever cameras and identity data are available.
